The short version. Viewers don’t sign up and we don’t track you. Streamers send us only their Twitch name, their key, the game and the “players left” number. Pictures of your screen never leave your PC.

1. Who looks after your data

ClutchCam is run by M Taylor, a sole trader based in Scotland, trading as ClutchCam. M Taylor is responsible for your personal data (the “controller”). Contact: clutchcam.support@gmail.com.

2. If you’re watching

3. If you’re a streamer

What the app sends us: your Twitch name, your ClutchCam key, the game you chose, the players-left number, whether you’re in a match, and the time. That’s all.

What stays on your PC: the app reads your screen or OBS picture on your own computer and turns it into a number there. Screen pictures, including the test picture it saves as “what_the_tool_sees.png”, are never uploaded. Your settings, including your OBS WebSocket password, are saved only in a file on your PC.

When you sign up: you connect your Twitch account on Twitch’s own page, and Twitch tells us your Twitch account ID, Twitch name, display name and email address. We store these with the date you signed up and the version of the terms you agreed to. We never see your Twitch password, and we don’t keep any access to your Twitch account after sign-up.

What we keep: those account details, and a fingerprint of your key (not the key itself), so we know the updates come from you. Match updates are held in the server’s memory only, replaced every few seconds, and not saved to a database. They disappear when the server restarts. We don’t build a history of your matches.

Contact details: if you email us, we keep the emails so we can reply and help you.

4. Why we use it (our legal basis)

We use streamers’ information to run ClutchCam for them, which is what they’ve signed up for (performance of a contract), and technical information to keep the site working and secure (our legitimate interests).

5. Who we share it with

We don’t sell personal data or share it for advertising. The only other organisations involved are:

Streamers’ Twitch names and game information are shown publicly on ClutchCam. That’s the point of the service.

6. How long we keep it

Match updates last seconds to minutes, until replaced or until the server restarts. Streamer account details stay until you delete your account (you can do this yourself from your account page) or ask us to remove them. Hosting logs are kept for the short period our hosting provider keeps them. Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or ask us to limit its use. Email clutchcam.support@gmail.com and we’ll reply within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Children

ClutchCam is for people aged 13 and over. If you think a child under 13 has sent us personal data, tell us and we’ll delete it.

9. Changes

If we change how we use data (for example, adding visitor statistics), we’ll update this page and the date at the top first.
